Valentine’s
Day is a day were people that are on a relationship get stressed out on what to
do. As well as the ones that don’t have a partner get depressed on not having
anyone to spend the day with. This day, for me, is very much commercialized;
stores get advantage of this to sell chocolates, teddy bears, flowers and
anything else they can think of. I don’t think there is something wrong with
giving a gift to someone special. The problem is how it seems wrong to not have
anyone or at least a date to spend the day with. Also, how some people take
only this day to make something special for the person they love.
I’m from Mexico
and there this day doesn’t just celebrate partner love but all types of love including
friendship. I move to the U.S a few months ago and I notice that here people need
to have a girlfriend, boyfriend, or a date. It is amazing if you are in a
relationship and are looking forward to do something special with you “Valentine”.
However there is nothing wrong with being single and wanting to spend the day
with your friends, watching a movie or even staying at home doing a marathon of
your favorite TV show.
Remember that
it doesn’t matter how or with who you spend Valentine’s Day with as long as you
are happy. This is a day to celebrate love and there are lots of chocolates and
cadies to eat. Besides, anytime of the year you can make a special gesture to
someone you love. What are your plans for this year’s Valentine’s Day? Hope you
have fun and enjoy your weekend.
